This track and field program for boys and girls ages 9 to 14 (as of Dec. 31, 2012) is designed to give young athletes a chance to learn the sport, be part of a team and prepare for the Hersheys Track and Field Games coming in May. Participants will learn the fundamentals of running, jumping and throwing, with an emphasis on self-improvement rather than competition. This eight-week program is divided in two sessions. Participants are invited to sign up for either session or the whole season. Practices are twice a week ? at the Parsons Junior High School track from 6 to 7:15 pm The first session will run March 6 through 29. All participants receive a T-shirt.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of bumping, setting and hitting, as well as court awareness and ready position. The first three-meeting session will begin March 10 and run through March 24 from 9 to 11 am The camps will be held in the Juniper School gym.

GOLF CAMP

SNAG (Starting New at Golf) is all about having fun while learning the basics of the game ? putting, chipping, pitching and driving. It incorporates developmentally appropriate equipment that allows golf to be learned and played in non-traditional venues, such as gyms, with immediate, positive results. This immediate success keeps new learners wanting to be further involved with golf. Our next camp series will be held on March 13 through 15, in the Juniper School gym. The camp for five- to nine-year-olds will be from 5:30 to 7:00 pm and the camp for 10- to 13-year-olds and high school-aged participants will be from 7:00 to 8:30 pm
