Internet boards are an essential place when dealing and advertising underground beats. They don?t only contain news, points and a lot of convenient information. They are also a really good place to show off your beats and gather a fan base. But there is also few guidelines to follow when advertising on content boards.

1. Don?t just sign-up to several boards and as a first content tell people to check your underground hiphop beats. That usually doesn?t work and people will probably just ignore you because they can see you?re only there to advertise. Many people sees it as ?spam?.

2. Sign up to the forums, write a lot of wonderful things, comment on different topics and stay active. That way people recognise you and if you have some wonderful things and tips to give out, they will start appreciating you. Only then you can start promoting your tunes a bit. They will be interested what you?re all about if you?ve given some good advices and good information to the discussion board.

3. Always use a signature on your posts with your web site on it + some other valuable information about you. But remember, keep it short and simple. No one likes to read long signatures. By doing this, every people reading your posts sees the link to your site. And if your posts are motivating, people will click the link and go to your page to check you out.

4. Targeted marketing. Let?s say you?re a hiphop musician or beatmaker, what kind of discussion board should you sign up to? A Hiphop forum of course where people listen to hiphop beats, underground beats and what not. That way you can target your marketing to the specific people that are interested in hiphop music. I?m not saying it?s the only way of course, there are a lot of content boards out there waiting for you to sign up to.

Forums are a good place to promote yourself but you have to do it exactly right so people won?t confuse you to a spammer. Do not sign up to discussion board just because you want more fans. Do it to stay up-to-date on everything that is happening in the industry and in the side you might get some more listeners, fans and even friends. Build Ties and it will serve you well for a long time. Connections are the main thing in the sound industry.

So go and join discussion boards, be active. When you have build an foundation then start promoting your underground beats, hiphop beats and whatever you do.

If there?s not mainstream beats, there?s no underground beats. Without mainstream music there is not underground music.
